It’s not going to impact how I construct the lin 3 months, 1 week ago #664

Some good pitching and a couple of homers Ken Griffey Jersey , but not enough to win"SPECIAL NOTE:Prior to the game today Diamondbacks Manager Torey Luvullo was asked what if any impacts the new lineup submission rules would have on his lineup creation process. “It’s not going to change the timing of what I do, because I usually have the lineup prepared the day before for the next day, ........eup whatsoever or potentially change the lineup”“What I’ll say on the record is that it’s not a forced situation. They are not asking us to do it by a certain time, a certain way. I still have the freedom to operate the exact same way. Everything is the same “The DBacks communications department was able to give further clarification. The Manager or whoever he designates gives the lineup to the PR Dept who then in turn sends it to MLB via e mail before it can be posted in the clubhouse for Media to see or can be tweeted out. It doesn’t change the process for the manager. The only thing it delays is the lineup being posted in the clubhouse for media to see. It will be posted behind the scenes for the players to see however.(This part is a little different than I have seen reported elsewhere but thats what I was told directly by DBacks PR dept) It will not affect the manager whatsoever. This process has been in place for spring training already.Once it is emailed out to MLB , they are to wait approximately 15 minutes for acknowledgment from MLB before it is to be posted on Twitter, put out in the press box, etc. In the case of a late scratch they can announce immediately to the people at the ballpark, it is not required to inform MLB first, however MLB is informed roughly the same time. So with that piece of interest out of the way, on to the gameZack Greinke took the mound against Trevor Bauer, which would be a marquee matchup during the regular season. Greinke gave up a hit in the top of the first, and then a groundball was hit to Wilmer Flores at 2nd, who seemed a little slow on the relay to Nick Ahmed. The force at 2nd was executed, but Jason Kipnis was easily safe at first. I think last year that DP gets turned, but it’s early...right ? After a flyout by Roberto Perez,Kelby Tomlinson failed to field a ball down to 3rd base cleanly for a E5 , but Zack struck out Trayce Thompson to end in the inning. The bottom of the first saw some DBacks fireworks. After a sharp single up the middle by Ketel Marte http://www.marinersfanproshop.com/authentic-edgar-martinez-jersey , Wilmer Flores stepped in , and did this to a 2 seam fastball left up by Bauer:That would be all the scoring for the DBacks in the inning. The top of the 2nd saw Greinke struggling with his fastball command, as he hit the leadoff batter, and also walked 2 in the inning, all coming on the fastball. However he struckoutLeonys Martin and Kipnison changeups to get out of the jam.Zack came out of the game after that having thrown just48 pitches, and then went down to the bullpen to get in some extra work afterwards. In the top of the 3rd Brad Goldberg , acquired from the White Sox last summer, came on to pitch. The hard throwing righty, know for both walks and strike outs, unfortunately produced 3 walks and a double, allowing 2 runs to score and a tie game, without getting an out. Marc Rzepczynski came in andrestored order however retiring all 3 batters he faced to stop the bleeding.MeanwhileTrevor Bauer settled in to keep the DBacks quiet for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th innings. The DBacks did manage a couple of singles in the 2nd and 3rd, but were eliminated by a caught stealing, (Ahmed) and a groundball DP (Flores) respectively.Bauer’s day was done after 4 innings, having allowed just the 2 runs on 5 hits including the Flores homerun.Caleb Joseph got the Dbacks back on the boardin the bottom of the 5th http://www.marinersfanproshop.com/authentic-edgar-martinez-jersey , homering off ofAdam Cimber to give the DBacks a 3-2 lead.Matt Andriese pitched 3 scoreless innings, using mostly 4 seam fastballs and changeups, mixing in just a couple of sliders. He retired the side in order in the 4th and 5th, and allowed a harmless 2 out single in the 6th.However he came out for a 4th inning of work in the top of the 7th and promptly walked the leadoff batter. We all know how that usually ends up and this time was no exception. After a flyout, Andriese gave up a single and the ball was bobbled in RF by Socrates Britoallowing the runner to 3rd. That would be all for Andriese, who had a very good outing allowing just 2 singles and a walk and 3 K’s . LeftyMatt Marksberry, an Indy Ballpickup who last pitched in the majors in 2016 for the Braves, came on in “relief”, of which there was none. Allowing a single, a walk , and a wild pitch, 2 inherited runners came around to score, giving the Indians a 4-3 lead. Remember this when looking at Andriese’s spring ERA.He pitched well today.4-3 would be the final score, as the DBacks failed to push across any more runs after the Joseph homerun in the 5th. Of note, Jimmie Sherfy pitched a scoreless 8th, getting two punch outs. Tomorrows game is an early start time, 12:05 vs the Brewers in Maryvale. The game will be on Fox Sports Arizona. BALTIMORE (AP) — Presented with an opportunity to make up ground in their playoff run Nelson Cruz Jersey , the Oakland Athletics were mounting a comeback against the Baltimore Orioles‘ shaky bullpen in the eighth inning of a tight game.Mychal Givens would have none of it.Givens put an end to the potential rally, and the Orioles snapped Oakland’s six-game winning streak with a 5-3 victory Thursday night.Stephen Piscotty homered for the A’s, who fell 3½ games behind first-place Houston in the AL West and 1½ back of the Yankees for the top wild-card slot.Down 4-2 in the eighth, Oakland hit successive singles off Miguel Castro and loaded the bases with one out. After Paul Fry walked Matt Olson to force in a run, Givens struck out Piscotty and retired Marcus Semien on a fly ball.Jace Peterson doubled in a run in the bottom half, and Givens finished for his seventh save despite issuing a leadoff walk in the ninth.“We give ourselves opportunities a lot and typically we come through,” Oakland manager Bob Melvin said. “We had a lot of chances, especially in the eighth inning, which was a big inning for us. We didn’t come through, especially with Stephen up at the plate.”The credit goes to Givens, who’s been closing since Baltimore traded Zach Britton in late July.“That was a pretty good pitcher they brought in, especially against righties,” Melvin said.Dylan Bundy had eight strikeouts in six solid innings for the Orioles, who snapped a six-game skid and avoided being swept for the 22nd time.Bundy (8-14) gave up two runs and six hits to earn his first win since July 29. The right-hander was 0-5 in his previous seven starts.“He made them beat his breaking ball,” Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. “He had good command of it and they didn’t seem like they were seeing it or following it.”Oakland activated lefty Brett Anderson from the 10-day disabled list to make his 14th start of the season. In his return from a forearm injury, Anderson (3-5) allowed four runs and didn’t make it out of the fourth inning. His night began when Cedric Mullins topped a ball down the third-base line that rolled tantalizingly close to being foul but never was. Four batters later, Tim Beckham hit a two-run single to put Baltimore ahead to stay.“Today was about as frustrating as it could get Carlos Ruiz Jersey ,” Anderson said. “Every groundball they hit found a hole.”Piscotty made it 2-1 in the second with his 24th home run, the major league-leading 38th allowed by Bundy. The Orioles got RBI singles from John Andreoli and Breyvic Valera in the fourth, and Oakland answered with a run-scoring single by Nick Martini in the fifth.TRAINER’S ROOMAthletics: RHP Trevor Cahill had an MRI on his right shoulder due to soreness in his upper back. Melvin scratched Cahill from Saturday’s start and will probably go with reliever Liam Hendriks. Melvin said that if Cahill responds to treatment, he could start twice during the Sept. 18-23 homestand.Orioles: RHP Andrew Cashner had an MRI on his left knee. Showalter said no structural damage was found, but the pitcher got a cortisone shot and could miss a start. … RHP Alex Cobb won’t pitch until Sept. 21 at the soonest because of an irksome blister, Showalter said.MORE THE MERRIERThe Athletics have suited up 53 players this season, one short of the Oakland record set in 2007 and matched last year.Baltimore has used 55 players this season, most since the team moved from St. Louis in 1954. That includes 28 pitchers, an Orioles record.UP NEXTAthletics: RHP Edwin Jackson (5-3, 3.26 ERA) is on the mound for the opener of a three-game series at Tampa Bay.Orioles: RHP Luis Ortiz, obtained in the Jonathan Schoop trade with Milwaukee on July 31, makes his first major league start in a matchup with the visiting White Sox.
